FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are your lessons for individuals or groups? All of my lessons are for individuals. Students get the most out of one-on-one learning, where they have the full and undivided attention of a maths specialist. Are you a qualified maths teacher? Definitely, please see my ABOUT page for details. How does your tuition differ from national educational franchises or those that employ university students? The lessons carried out by the franchises are often in large class sizes at centres covered by one instructor. The instructor may have no formal educational qualification in the subject being taught or be a qualified teacher. University students are not usually qualified teachers or have the experience so the standard of tuition may not be as good. Do I have to come to your house for a lesson? In normal times yes, but during extenuating circumstances such as global pandemics I provide online lessons via Zoom instead. How much are your lessons? It depends on the level. Please contact me for details. What age group do you teach? 5 years plus. Do you teach during school holidays? Possibly, by arrangement. What if a student doesn’t show up for a lesson, do I still have to pay? I do not refund cancellations, therefore you need to pay for the lesson. I can, upon request, try to re- arrange the missed lesson for you, please ask. How do I book a lesson? Booking a lesson is easy, just phone or email me to discuss your requirements.
